COMMUNITY HEALTH INITIATIVES

From Classrooms to Clinics, Goshen’s Research Touches Every Corner of Society

Our health research is more than academic — it’s service in action. Through our Community Health Initiatives, students and faculty partner with local communities to deliver care, gather data, and create real-world solutions in maternal health, disease prevention, and nutrition education — where knowledge meets compassion.

💉 Extending Healing Hands Beyond the Campus Walls

Because Research Means Little Until It Improves Someone’s Life

Community Health Initiatives at Goshen combine evidence-based research with on-the-ground action. Each program is designed to bridge the gap between theory and reality — transforming research findings into tangible public health outcomes. Our students don’t just study communities; they serve within them, building empathy, leadership, and lifelong commitment to Kenya’s healthcare goals.

📊 Our Approach: Research, Action, and Measurable Impact

Transforming Data into Decisions and Decisions into Healthier Lives
Every Goshen community health activity begins with rigorous research — baseline surveys, data analytics, and participatory needs assessments. Findings are translated into community programs implemented by trained students and supervised professionals. The result? Health interventions that are context-driven, evidence-based, and measurable. Regular monitoring ensures lessons learned are fed back into both curriculum and national health policy conversations.

🤝 Partnerships That Power Progress

Our impact is magnified through collaboration. Goshen works closely with local hospitals, county governments, NGOs, and international partners to ensure sustainability. Each partnership extends our reach — from providing laboratory backup to facilitating health data sharing. Together, we empower communities while training a new generation of healthcare professionals grounded in empathy and innovation.

Key Partners include:

  • County Departments of Health (Kiambu, Murang’a, Bungoma)
  • AMREF Health Africa
